WET PLATE COLLODION

We create authentic collodion wet plates, a 19th Century technique that creates one-of-a-kind handcrafted images on a glass or aluminium support, using original cameras made from 1860’s till 1920’s.

The tintype process is a return to picture making as a craft. It’s slow photography. Every image we make is handmade from start to finish and the end result is an image on a plate rendered in silver.

You are very welcome to follow us in the darkroom during the session, being witness to the process and live the full experience, from the initial preparation of the wet plate to the final development of it.
At the end, you receive the original plate and a light digital file of your pictures.
